The Enterprise Applications Division (EAD) works with agencies and groups of agencies to develop and implement more efficient business processes through the use of technology.
The following projects are ongoing at this time:
Business One-Stop
The purpose of the Business One-Stop (BOS) portal is to: provide business formation services to the public; reduce redundant information capture; promote data standards around business formation; simplify the process of registering a business with various agencies; and provide a unified, on-line view of business formation services.
Agencies involved in this project are: the Dept. of Business Assistance, the Dept. of General Services, the Dept. of Taxation and the Virginia Employment Commission. The project is sponsored by the Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Trade. Virginia Interactive provides integration services for the project.
e-Notary
EAD has developed an online electronic notary registration process for the Secretary of the Commonwealth. A citizen who wishes to become a notary public may register and electronically sign all the necessary forms. A third phase will transfer existing data from Lockheed Martin's IQ system into the new system. EAD is providing hosting and help desk support for this application.
Workforce One-Stop
The Senior Advisor to the Governor for Workforce initiated this effort in 2009 to create an initial intake form for the Workforce One-Stop Centers. The intake form collects client information and helps to triage and route the client through the center, ultimately resulting in referral to one or more Workforce partners. The project was piloted in the Roanoke One-Stop Center and will be rolled out to 4 other centers in this phase of the project: Danville, South Boston, Prince William and either Martinsville or Arlington.
Workforce case management
Phase 1 of this project identified several areas where the Virginia One-Stop System (VOS) and the Dept. of Rehabilitative Services' AWARE case management system could be integrated. Phase 2 will focus on developing a method for exchanging data between VOS and AWARE in order to streamline case management; sharing data collected by the common intake form in the Workforce Centers with VOS and AWARE; and sharing the data collected by the common intake form with all Workforce One-Stop partners.
